Negan's learning the hard way exactly how insane Rick actually is. I prefer to watch everything unfold naturally without having a tainted viewing experience. The plan involving Alexandrians, Kingdommers and Hilltoppers unfolds. Seeing Rick's look of determination during the car chase coupled with Negan desperately trying to get away was awesome. Thankfully, this episode finally addressed Daryl's regret for jeopardizing everything and Rick's understanding of what Daryl was trying to accomplish. But Negan's squad, The Saviors, are better-equipped and more experienced, so the battle for freedom will be paved with casualties and tragedy. It ain't right, and it ain't fair. Rick himself admitted that he should have put more focus on looking out for his own people, rather than worrying about the supposed innocent workers at the Sanctuary. This year, Rick brings 'All Out War' to Negan and his forces. I can't recommend this more too people. There was a richness in the world that was created, charismatic villain personalities and brutality. Simon views Negan’s shock and awe approach as a weak way to deal with their enemies, theatrical and not all that effective when it comes to getting people to fall in line with the Savior way.
When Negan escaped Rick's wrath, I had a feeling he would turn up behind Simon during his speech to the Saviors and have a few choice words with him, but finding out that he was abducted by Jadis, really surprised me. Still, it’s nice to see Simon finally enjoy the delicious moment of power he’s been craving all season. A new weapon in the Savior arsenal proves to be a giant hurdle as fighting continues.
Greg Nicotero directs the entire confrontation like its a slasher film and how fun that it’s Rick playing the killer and not Negan.
